Incineration Blends Chemist – Chemical Engineer Clean Harbors Incineration units are seeking an Incineration Blends Chemist – Chemical Engineer located in Kimball, NE. The role involves planning operations for the high‑temperature destruction of hazardous and non‑hazardous materials using industrial incinerators. Starting pay is $80,000 per year. Opportunities for growth and development at all career stages. Responsibilities Ensure health and safety is the top priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Develop a production plan for the incineration unit and conduct inspections to achieve production goals. Oversee scheduling of waste materials into the facility. Create sequences for Operations Manager(s) and/or Supervisors. Complete all required paperwork associated with waste tracking. Ensure all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines and compliance parameters. Problem‑solve when results fall outside mandated specifications. Manage month‑end inventory reconciliation. Work closely with plant management to implement operational improvement strategies to maximize efficiencies. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Current 4‑year Chemical Engineering bachelor’s degree (required). 3 years of industrial operations experience preferred; willing to train recent college graduates. Proficiency with office applications (e.g., MS Excel and Outlook). Advanced chemical knowledge required. Flexibility to work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to work in adverse environments (cold/heat). Ability to work in a team environment. DOT training. Proficiency in Windows‑based applications. Valid driver’s license required. Punctuality and attendance required. Respirator fit test upon hire; clean shaven face required, mustache acceptable. Excellent commitment to health and safety. Accountability. Background check, drug screen, and physical required. Must work rotating shifts (days/night).
