Many positions (30 hours/week or more) are eligible for additional benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability insurances and other offerings.Lots of training and development opportunities to move your career forwardFriendly and supportive team environmentWork with state-of-the-art technology and equipmentThe Masonry Crew Member and Leader will assist to:Builds retaining walls, pools, walkways, patios, and other structures using bricks, stone, an/or concrete blocks,Cuts or saws bricks for projects as necessaryAbility to mix mortar and grout to be used to lay brick and places brick or concrete blocks on mortar bedMeasures and examine brickwork to ensure structure is built correctlyConsults with the project manager/foreman or client to determine the shape, consistency, finish, and other specifications of the project and plans accordinglyPlans project and drying time to ensure that concrete will dry and cure correctly; monitors weather and wind throughout the process to ensure proper curingBuilds and uses forms to shape concrete to specified levels and consistenciesUses a variety of tools, such as straight-edges, floats, rakes, shovels, trowels, and brooms, to spread, level, smooth, and finish concrete and surfaceWaterproofs or restores surface by applying hardening and sealing compoundsLevels and evens surface as needed by chipping, scraping, and grinding uneven spots or ridges using power or hand toolsRepairs and reinforces existing concrete surfaces, which may include removing ridges and cavities, resurfacing, or cleaningCleans surface, tools, and surrounding area thoroughlyPerforms other related duties as assignedCOMPETENCIESDemonstrates extensive knowledge of bricklaying techniques and proceduresAbility to read and interpret blueprintsPossesses a thorough understanding of math and geometryDemonstrates excellent verbal communication skillsPossesses a thorough understanding of the characteristics of concrete and ability to make plans based on that knowledge.Ability to create, lay, and use concrete formsDemonstrates a deep understanding of and ability to use tools related to masonry.Ability to work well with othersAbility to create a variety of surfaces for various purposesAbility to reliably commute to and from the office on a daily basisPossesses a valid/active driver’s licenseEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredTechnical/vocational school program preferredThree years of related experience requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProlonged periods standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squattingMust be able to lift up to 100 pounds at a timePhysically able to perform labor required to lay bricks and concrete blocksMust be able to work in extremely noisy areasExcellent hand-eye coordinationMust be able to work in all types of weatherThe Perks401(k) plan with company matchMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceFSA/HSAPerkSpotLong-Term Disability and Life InsurancePaid time OffTuition Reimbursement (after one year of service)Pay TransparencyMariani Enterprises LLC is committed to pay transparency and equity among all employees and provides employees with an environment where pay transparency and dialogue on compensation are allowed.
