Salary Range: $72,000 - $98,000 per year (Commensurate with experience)

As our project pipeline expands, we are seeking a technically sharp Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative design team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with a proven background in the supermarket or food retail sector. You will take ownership of creating comprehensive, scale-accurate store layouts and floor plans, ensuring that complex mechanical spaces seamlessly integrate with centralized refrigeration infrastructure. This position gives you the opportunity to expand your technical engineering footprint while working alongside cross-functional project teams, architects, and store owners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilizing AutoCAD to design and layout precise architectural floor plans, equipment placement schemes, and fixture layouts specialized for supermarket environments.
• Engineering and laying out commercial HVAC ducting, ventilation systems, and mechanical spaces tailored to the unique humidity and thermal loads of food retail.
• Creating detailed, scale drawings outlining physical dimensions and clearances, ensuring zero field interference between refrigeration piping, building structures, and mechanical equipment.
• Conducting on-site physical field surveys and walkdowns at operating client supermarkets to accurately measure, analyze, and document existing mechanical layouts.
• Collaborating with architects, store management, and construction contractors to clarify design intents, answer technical inquiries, and implement practical design adjustments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Experience Requirement: 3+ years of technical drafting, layout planning, or engineering design experience specifically within the commercial retail, supermarket, or cold storage sectors.
• Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is strictly required. Hands-on project experience utilizing Revit or equivalent 3D modeling environments is a significant plus.
• Core Skills: Exceptional spatial visualization abilities (interpreting mechanical systems in a 3D environment) and strong multi-tasking skills to successfully manage multiple fast-moving design deadlines.
• Education: Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a High School Diploma coupled with equivalent deep technical design field experience.
