Job Description

Oncology Pharmacist

Company: Rx relief

Location: Fresno, CA

Setting: Oncology Pharmacy Cancer Center

Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Flexible Hours, No Nights/Weekends)

Compensation: $150,000–$165,000 (Open to more for the right candidate)

Why This Role is Different: The Cancer Center Advantage

Are you tired of the endless institutional bureaucracy, unpredictable rotating schedules, and isolated central pharmacy basements of standard hospital settings?

At Rx relief, we are looking for a dedicated Oncology Pharmacist for an exclusive, direct-hire opportunity with a premier independent oncology pharmacy in Fresno, CA. Instead of processing generic orders for an entire hospital system, this specialized care environment allows you to deeply focus on localized, high-impact oncology treatment. You will enjoy a predictable, flexible daytime schedule with standard work hours, giving you the perfect balance between clinical excellence and lifestyle autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

In this specialized cancer center pharmacy, you will serve as a core clinical stakeholder and compliance expert. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Clinical Review: Evaluate and validate all complex chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive medication orders for perfect therapeutic alignment.
  • Sterile Compounding: Oversee and perform precise compounding, mixing, and dosing calculation adjustments for chemotherapy treatments.
  • Clinical Recommendations: Analyze drug-drug and drug-disease interactions, providing highly collaborative clinical insights directly to community oncologists and healthcare providers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Act as a leading expert on USP <797> and USP <800> standards, ensuring absolute safety in hazardous sterile compounding.
  • Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and maintain rigorous pharmacy safety protocols and quality control mechanisms in compliance with California Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
  • Cost & Asset Management: Actively manage high-cost oncology drug lines, optimizing inventory management and reducing waste while keeping the highest standards of care.
Position Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of active, hands-on chemotherapy mixing and clinical oncology experience.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of California.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep, operational familiarity with USP <797> and USP <800> requirements.
  • Core Skills: High level of autonomy, excellent collaborative communication skills for provider relations, and strong clinical decision-making capabilities.
Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive direct-hire pay scale ($150,000 - $165,000 base, open to negotiation for top-tier candidates).
  • Desirable daytime shifts with flexible operating hours.
  • A modern, independent clinical practice environment focused strictly on high-quality oncology care.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 Per Year
