Job Purpose and Summary As a Pharmacy Manager at CVS Health, you lead and develop a pharmacy team that delivers exceptional patient care. You promote best practices, manage change, support program awareness, onboard new members, and recognize colleague success. Your leadership ensures safe dispensing, counseling, immunization, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Live CVS Health’s purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, coaching to strengthen performance measures. Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and coaching the team to collaborate with the patient’s total healthcare team. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify and support pharmacists and technicians to learn immunization. Manage pharmacy inventory effectively, protecting cold chain products and following best practices. Conduct onboarding for new technicians and pharmacists, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure on time. Maintain full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues when necessary. Partner with the Store Manager to build a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, manage performance, conduct reviews, and close performance gaps. Adapt scheduling to business needs and support a safe, inclusive team dynamic. Review business reports for insights and develop action plans to address gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging feedback and taking relevant action. Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings, CMEs, and self‑development. Support patients with pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., testing, prescribing, counseling) to improve outcomes. Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to protect patient safety and privacy. Required Qualifications Active pharmacist license in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription accuracy. Customer service and team orientation: help people in a friendly manner, understand patient reactions. Communication skills: use clear verbal and written communication, active listening. Mathematical reasoning: calculate quantities for prescriptions. Problem resolution: identify challenges and choose the best solution when faced with multiple options. Physical demands: mobility, lifting up to 20 lbs, repetitive finger use, visual acuity requirements. Team management and leadership: lead by example, delegate, motivate, coach, provide feedback, discipline, or terminate staff as needed. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting. Ability to work in the home store and travel to other locations to meet business needs. Compensation and Benefits Anticipated weekly hours: 39 Time type: Full time Pay range: $65.00 – $85.00 per hour; eligible for bonus, commission, or incentive program.
