Welder Position

CSI is currently recruiting for an experienced welder to perform installation services for our refrigeration systems at customer sites. Welding job duties include TIG and SMAW welding, grinding, polishing, and operation of forklifts, torches, saws, drills, and other equipment. Accurate reading of tape, scale, blueprints, drawings, and schematics is required. Assist with pipe fitting as needed.

Our install teams are the face of CSI to our customers. Being committed to safety on the job and representing the company well are important elements of this position. As a welder, you will be working under the mentorship of a Lead Welder. Overnight and/or weekend travel is necessary and, at times, may be as much as 100%. Travel is either by air or company vehicles.

Field installation positions are very active and require constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of welding and field installation. Working outside or in non-climate controlled environments may be required. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, such as fall protection, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes.

Salary: $18 - $24 an hour, depending on experience.

This position is based out of our Grand Prairie, TX office.

Required Skills:

Strong attention to detail is necessary to complete work as required. Must possess a good understanding of welding techniques and the ability to apply those techniques to create quality work for the customer. Pride of ownership and accepting responsibility for work performed are key personal characteristics.

Required Experience:

TIG and SMAW welding experience, required. GMAW welding experience, preferred. 2+ years refrigeration welding, preferred. Pipe fitting, preferred. Blueprint reading, preferred. Knowledge of refrigeration systems, required. Operation of basic construction equipment, preferred.

Fork lift, Drill motor, Plasma torch, Scissor lift, Saw. Experience working at customers' facilities, preferred.
