TeachCast is hiring fun and engaging online instructors to work from home for our ongoing 2025-2026 school year. Teachers must live in the United States, but have the heart of a world traveler! We are excited to implement bonuses for new teachers with a starting rate of up to $17.79/hr (with ESL Certification), with additional bonuses up to $20/hr!

The Role

As an online ESL instructor, the primary duty is to teach students in an engaging manner. Teachers must be self-driven, energetic, and be sensitive toward an education culture that differs from the USA.

The Classes

We work with classrooms and schools throughout Indonesia, and are part of their mandatory English program during their school day.

• We are proud to be one of the only ESL companies that pays by hourly blocks, NOT by number of classes taught!
• We teach group classrooms of 12-30 students, K-12 and university level
• 1:1 classes with Indonesian Teachers.
• 1:1 classes with University Students.

We provide a stable environment for our teachers. Our teachers are hired as W-2 employees, and we pay via direct deposit twice a month.

This role is remote and USA-based for teachers living in any state except Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Washington, D.C.  

• Education: Associate degree minimum

The Block Schedule

Our teaching hours start in the evening, and vary depending on your time zone. Teachers can choose a block of time that falls within their listed time frame. Typically, blocks are four hours per day (20 hours per week), but teachers can do more or fewer.

BLOCK SCHEDULE

Below are our shift availabilities.* You can start and end your block shift at any point between the listed times. Most of our teachers choose a four hour block schedule.

Evening Shifts: Usually begin late afternoon or early evening and extend into the night.

Late Night shifts: Often run through the night into the early morning.

Days of the week: May adjust from Sunday-Thursday, Sunday to Wednesday.

*Note: the block shift moves forward one hour when returning to Daylight Savings Time in Spring 2026.

 

Technology Requirements:
Instructors must meet our broadband and computer standards to teach from home.

-Bandwidth: Minimum speeds of 3 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download are required, WiFi or hardwired.

-Computer Specs:

• Processor must be 2.0 GHz (dual core), 2.8 GHz (single core), or better 
• Memory (RAM): 4 GB or more
• Allowed Operating Systems: PC: Windows 10 or newer OR Mac: OS X 10.11 or newer
